What is it to be asocial

Asocial is a term that refers to any individual who does not have the necessary motivation to interact with other people. It is about the lack of interest towards social interaction of any kind and the tendency or preference (almost) exclusively to spend time alone. According to several psychologists, asocial tendencies are not pathological, that is, they are not considered a disease in themselves, but rather as a trait of the individual’s personality. An asocial person is an introverted person. This in itself does not usually represent a problem, however in today’s society characteristics such as being extroverted, sociable and friendly are appreciated as ideals, so the introverted person may have a hard time fitting in. It is importantdo not confuse this term with the term antisocial.
