Difference between Happiness and Joy

The difference is based on its duration and importance, happiness is a permanent state, synonymous with prosperity or happiness. Joy is a brief state, synonymous with jubilation, well-being or joy.


It is an emotional state that generates a permanent and stable effect due to the personal importance that is given to the causes of said happiness, for example, a person is happy because of the family he has and another can be when he gets a job position he longs for.

It is considered a feeling according to the attitude that is taken in life to reach it and the life goals outlined by our mental associations and our personal experiences.


It is a transitory and spontaneous emotional state, it is also considered an emotion or an instinctive physical reaction. Joy is necessary as a technique to face life as a path to happiness.

A cheerful personality or a cheerful person is one who is smiling and giggly and has a tendency to laugh. Based on studies in psychology, the cheerful personality is a fundamental attitude to overcome complicated situations in life.

A happy person is one who is said to have found happiness, as it is an indestructible state, an unhappy person can feel moments of joy and a happy person may not know what happiness is.
