Difference between Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic Cells

Cells are the functional anatomical units that each organism is made up of. These have several functions, which are of vital importance for each individual. According to their structure, cells are divided into prokaryotes and eukaryotes.

Prokaryotic cells
Eukaryotic cells
What are they? These are relatively simple organisms. They are unicellular and are characterized by not having a nucleus or other specialized cellular structures. Some prokaryotic cells group together to form “colonies.”
There are three types of prokaryotic cells; mycoplasmas, bacteria and cyanobacteria.
In contrast, eukaryotic cells are much more complex than prokaryotic cells. Living beings such as plants, animals and fungi, among others, are made up of this type of cell.
There are two types of eukaryotic cells, animal and plant.
Size They are smaller than eukaryotic cells. They are much larger than prokaryotic cells.
