Difference between Men and Women

However, although they have similar characteristics, men and women have great differences between them that go beyond the obvious qualities, being also dissimilar at a biological, psychological, social and cultural level.

What is Man?

If we talk about man as a masculine gender, also called male or male according to biology, the qualities of courage, firmness, courage or bravery are used to define him, and they are terms that differentiate him from his female counterpart. Testosterone, which is a man’s own hormone, allows him to develop muscles without great effort, it is also a determining factor in his physical development, but also throughout history it has defined the role that man exercises within his community.

Likewise, man has in his anatomy the male reproductive system, which, unlike women, has the main sexual organs externally, and which allow him to fertilize the female egg through sperm. Other well-marked physical differences with respect to women are the wide torso and narrow hips, the tone of voice that is usually deeper and stronger, their height and upper body volume, the appearance of facial hair entering adolescence, a tendency to baldness, with thicker skin and a lack of subcutaneous fat.

What is Woman?

The woman is the person of the feminine gender entering puberty or adulthood, because before that she is considered a girl. There are those who consider that the beginning of a woman’s adulthood is marked by the first menstruation, but this depends on the society in which she is born.

Historically, women have had a more limited role than men, since for many centuries it was customary that the role of women was to be a wife, mother and take care of household chores. However, in recent times, women have had relevant participation in areas that were reserved exclusively for men, such as science, politics and management, demonstrating that they have great intellectual capacity to perform these functions. This has been a fight that has not yet been fully won, as gender inequality still exists in many areas around the world.

Physically, the female gender has very different characteristics from males, among which are that after puberty, body fat is distributed, making their hips wider, so their pelvis is wider, and the size of the breasts also increases. , all this to facilitate their reproductive function. Unlike men, she has her internal reproductive system and begins to produce her eggs at an average age of 10 years until she reaches menopause, a stage in which her reproductive capacity is reduced and stops, this occurs around 50 years.

The female body has less muscle mass, so its physical performance for heavy work is lower than that of men.

Difference between Men and Women

  • The sexual impulse of the man is much greater than that of the woman, and this not only infers in his sexual behavior, but it is also what leads him to be more proactive, since it gives him courage and value in other activities that require initiative, creativity and decision making.
  • Due to the hormonal load of men and women, their behaviors are also different. The man can be more aggressive and dominant, while the woman tends to have a fickle mood according to her menstrual cycle; she tends to be more emotional due to her high production of prolactin which in addition to producing breast milk also increases tears.
  • Women can efficiently perform several tasks simultaneously, while men concentrate better on a single activity.
  • The female gender is more prone to social and affective relationships, unlike men who are characterized by being more reserved and not very communicative.
