Tributary and Effluent are two words with the same sound and similar spellings. Some people consider them the same, but in reality both words are totally different from each other. Affluent is used for someone who is wealthy and prosperous. It is also used for the flow of fluids in large quantities, either literally or figuratively. Effluent is a word that has the meaning of waste released as liquid sewage. It is sometimes used with the meaning of flowing, but it is mainly used for chemicals. “Influent” is an adjective, while “effluent” is a noun. “Influent” and “Effluent” sound similar, but “Influent” starts with “A” and “Effluent”

What is tributary?

Affluent is an adjective and is used to describe a noun. It means prosperous, wealthy and richer person. It is used to describe the elite lifestyle. For example, “Steve enjoys a comfortable lifestyle.” Steve’s prosperity is described in this affluent sentence. “Shayen is the owner of this palace so she is rich.” Here “rich” is describing that Shaven is a wealthy woman and a wealthy woman.

Effluent is a noun and describes the waste released as liquid sewage. It is sometimes used with the meaning of flowing, but it is mainly used for chemicals. Discharges of chemicals and poisonous liquids from factories and industries are called “effluents”. For example, “The effluent is harmful to the nearby population, do not discharge here”. Here “effluent” describes the waste from factories.
