Difference Between Heat and Temperature

Temperature values ​​are measured with a device called a thermometer on three scales: Fahrenheit (°F), Kelvin (°K), and Celsius (°C). Heat is studied by calorimetry, which is a branch of physics, that is, it is based on studying the transfer of heat between one body and another.

What is Heat?

Heat can be defined as the total energy of the molecular movement of a body, and for this process the heat depends on the number, size and type of particles, the heat is responsible for the temperature increasing or decreasing, if heat is added , the temperature increases, otherwise it decreases.

Heat is characterized by the transfer of thermal energy, which flows from a body with a higher temperature to another with a lower temperature, and thus achieve a thermal balance of temperature between both bodies. However, heat transfer can occur in different ways.

Heat has different characteristics:

Temperature is the measure of energy, it is described as the physical process that measures kinetic energy, which is found in molecules and the thermal state that a body possesses. That is, the hotter a body is, the greater its kinetic energy and molecular agitation, but the colder the body, the lower the molecular agitation. The International System of Units (SI) shows us that temperature can be measured with a thermometer in degrees Fahrenheit (°F), Kelvin (K) or Celsius (°C).
