Vitamin is an organic compound and an essential micronutrient that our body needs in limited amounts for normal growth and development. They are obtained through the diet because organisms cannot synthesize these compounds in sufficient quantities. Vitamins are classified as water-soluble vitamins or fat-soluble vitamins. Vitamins that are not stored in our body are known as water-soluble vitamins. And those vitamins that can be stored in our body are called fat-soluble vitamins. Vitamin B and C are water soluble vitamins. Vitamins A, D, E and K are fat-soluble vitamins.
