The cytoplasm is the part of the protoplasm in a eukaryotic cell. We can find it between the cell nucleus and the plasma membrane. It is a fine colloidal dispersion with a granular appearance, cytosol and cellular organelles that perform various functions.

Its function is to house the cellular organelles and contribute to their movement. The cytoplasm is sometimes divided into an outer gelatinous region called ectoplasm and a more fluid inner part and where they find the organelles.
