Difference Between Congress and Senate

Those who are familiar with the legislative and governmental systems of different countries will surely be familiar with these two words ‘congress’ and ‘senate’. These two institutes represent those members who are elected by the people of the country to lead the government. The Congress is linked to the United States, while the Senate is used for the highest parliament in all States with democratic or presidential governments, apart from the United States.

What is Congress?

Congress represents the meeting, conference, assembly or discussion meeting between delegates from two groups, which may be from a political party, union or any other particular discipline. In different countries, it is used with different terms. Asian countries used the word ‘assembly’ for that purpose, while the United States used the word ‘congress’ for that purpose and in the United States it shows the two chambers of the United States, the House of Representatives and the Senate. It usually occurs between members of parliament. However, in rare cases, it was also held between the government and any union or other group.

What is the Senate?

The Senate is the highest legislative, government, or assembly body in the political system of Asian countries, US states, and other countries. Most of the legislative power, such as administration and judicial decisions, are decided by the Senate. In almost all countries, where there is a high assembly or senate system, members are elected for a period of six years. The number of members of the Senate ranges between 100 and 105 in almost all these countries.

  1. The Congress represents the meeting of the delegation of the members of the assembly, while the Senate represents the highest assembly in the political system.
  2. According to the US, Congress represents the two chambers of the US government, the House of Representatives and the Senate. And in the United States, the senate is part of the congress and denotes the assembly of the upper class.
  3. In Congress, members of the government meet with unions and other groups in addition to meeting with members of the government, while the Senate represents the members of the government of the higher assembly and the meeting of the same.
