What is 4G?
4G, which stands for Fourth Generation, is the fourth generation of mobile telecommunications that provides Internet access and mobile broadband in addition to the usual voice and voice services. Examples include wireless modems in laptops and smartphones. Mobile web access, IP telephony, online gaming, HD and 3D mobile TV, video communications, and cloud computing are the services typically provided by 4G. An IMT-Advanced (International Mobile Telecommunications Advanced) cellular system is required for 4G use.
What is LTE?
LTE, short for Long-Term Evolution, is a high-speed wireless communication service for mobile phones and data terminals. It is based on Global System for Mobile (GSM) / Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE) and Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) / High Speed Packed Access (HSPA) network technologies. All of these technologies increase capacity and speed by using a different interface in conjunction with core network enhancements. It is more advanced than 4G and has data speeds of 1 Gbit/s at maximum download and 500 Mbit/s at maximum upload.
